Schlossbergs Transition
Disruption is the quiet architect of identity. We have always tried to categorize the mechanics of how we shift. A sudden rupture in routine, the slow arrival of an anticipated future, or the haunting silence of the dream that never materialized—moving in, moving through, or moving out?
One thing is for certain: We can never fully rehearse for the "neutral zone" of the in-between. We can take stock of our situation, lean on our supports, strategize, cope. Like standing on a bridge while the fog rolls in—it is always approached with a map in hand, yet the path itself disappears beneath our feet. It remains a solitary crossing, a negotiation between the self we are forced to leave behind and the stranger waiting on the other side.
